Avoriaz, France

As you can see from the pictures the girls did very well again with their skiing, Ella learning the basics enough to tackle 'Blue' runs and Holly progressing to poles and starting to link turns and ski more parallel!
Although the pictures show it very sunny we actually had very mixed fortunes, infact I think we experienced every type of mountain weather which exists in January in the space of 6 days!
It's really quite foggy when you can't actually see your skis never mind the slope.....
Avoriaz was made all the easier though by the fantastic ESF ski school and the abundance of easy blue runs for those family afternoons!

Christmas 2008

This year we spent an enjoyable Christmas with Tracy's parents in Gleaston. The girls got over their colds just in time after having had over a week off school with temperatures and runny noses....ahh, the joys of winter!
New Year was a bit quieter, spent at home in Grange with just us and the kids. They fell asleep around 11 so just missed seeing in 2009!
The weather over Christmas and New Year was the best for quite a few years with the temperatures often at -2 to -4! Plenty of blue sky and sunshine as well. This meant we have been able to get out walking and biking nearly everyday, really making the most of the time off work and school!
Both Holly and Ella were keen to get back to school come January having not really seen their friends for 3 weeks.
We are now looking forward to our ski holiday in Avoriaz, France. The snow fall has been huge again so we are really excited about it, the girls are even looking forward to ski school!
